Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Moderok analytics platform (the “Service”), provided by Moderok (“Moderok”, “we”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Moderok provides analytics for browser extensions. The Service includes a client-side SDK that you embed in your extension, a backend ingestion API that receives events from your extension, and a web dashboard where you view and analyze your data.

2. Accounts

To use the Service you must create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to collect data that violates the law, your users’ privacy, or the policies of any browser extension store you publish to.
  • Collect personally identifiable information about end users without their clear consent.
  • Use the Service to target, harass, deceive, or harm end users.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, attack, or disrupt the Service or the infrastructure that powers it.
  • Resell or redistribute the Service as a standalone product without a separate written agreement.
  • Use the Service to build a competing analytics product.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all laws and regulations that apply to you, including data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA, and the policies of any distribution channel you publish your extension through.

4. Your data

You retain ownership of the data you and your users send to the Service. You grant Moderok a limited license to process, store, and display that data solely to provide the Service to you. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.

5. Fees and billing

Some features of the Service are offered under paid plans. When you subscribe to a paid plan:

  • You authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for the plan you selected.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not prorate partial periods.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • We may change our pricing with at least 30 days’ notice before your next renewal.

6. Service availability

We work hard to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, modify features, or suspend the Service when necessary. We are not liable for downtime or data loss caused by factors beyond our reasonable control.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if your use of the Service poses a security or legal risk, or if your payment method fails and is not cured. You may close your account at any time by emailing us at admin@moderok.dev.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moderok will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Moderok from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-product. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
